Forged on the banks of the Thames, Ironworks is a collaboration between LWE and PROJEKT, reimagining a historic industrial warehouse for a limited series of electronic music events.
Set across a vast warehouse space and open-air riverside terrace overlooking the London skyline, Ironworks will be our largest-scale space to date, bringing together cutting-edge sound, lighting and visual production inside one of London’s most striking industrial settings.
Transforming unconventional spaces through production has always been part of who we are. Over the years we’ve built experiences everywhere from industrial warehouses to landmark cultural institutions, but we always knew we would return to our roots and find a home inside a true London warehouse once again. Ironworks is that return.
Developed in response to the building itself, Ironworks preserves the raw atmosphere, scale and identity of the warehouse while reimagining it for a new generation of electronic music experiences.
The historic name remains. The structure remains. Everything else has been rebuilt around the experience.
Born from a love of putting on parties and building communities, AMAAD has grown from underground raves in 2011 into a company shaped by creativity, culture and a reputation for thoughtful, high quality production.
Over the years we’ve brought people together everywhere from railway arches and disused shopping centres to landmark institutions including the Royal Albert Hall and Southbank Centre, as well as a 19th century fort on the Albanian Riviera.
Creating ambitious experiences inside unconventional spaces has become central to our approach, combining electronic music culture with production-led environments that feel connected to the spaces around them.
Through AMAAD Venues, we continue to build culturally significant spaces across the UK, including The Prospect Building in Bristol and Quarters in Brighton, with a focus on creating venues that feel rooted in their cities, open to community and alive with culture.
PROJEKT was founded by Nick Hartwright in 2012 as a social enterprise responding to the lack of affordable creative workspace in London.
Since then, PROJEKT has opened an arts hotel, developed multiple creative venues and supported over 400 creative businesses across more than a million square feet of space throughout the city.
Today, PROJEKT operates six work and event spaces across the Royal Docks, including The Factory and The Silver Building.
Through its work with creative businesses, the Mayor of London, the Greater London Authority, the British Council and others, PROJEKT has developed an approach centred around more than just creating spaces. Its focus is on building networks, supporting creative communities and shaping culture within the areas it becomes part of.
